“Have you ever wondered just how much impact your state of mind has on your health? This has long been debated, and is somewhat difficult to study empirically. But the short answer, at least according to Ayurveda, is that the mind has a very powerful influence on our overall health and well-being. The Ayurvedic tradition recognizes that any of these three aspects of self—body, mind, or spirit—can either support or undermine our well-being, making the mind one of three equally influential players in our overall health. Ayurvedically, the mind is a conscious flow of energy that originates in the heart and flows to the brain which creates thought and pervades the body which facilitates sensation, perception and experience. Consider then, even minor disturbances in the mind to be deeply influential, with the very real potential to compromise the quality of our lives, and to more directly cause any number of dis-eases: physical and otherwise.” Melody Mischke for Banyan Botanicals
You might be wondering what Integral Breathwork has to do with feeling happy and being healthy? To heal ourselves of old traumas/ negative emotions/ hurtful memories consciously or unconsciously affecting us a great idea is to clear them out of our system. When we are able to do this we can truly experience a freedom in our emotional, spiritual, mental, physical existence. We have the power to transform our lives from an “unhealthy” state to a “healthy” one with Breathwork as a practice. Oxygen is our tool to manoeuvre and “wake up” these inner conversations and as they surface, it is our responsibility to face, accept and learn from them to free ourselves. When not cleared it can manifest into feelings of being stuck, anxiety, stress which can ultimately lead to dis-ease in our bodies. We can change our lives. We do possess the capacity to be anything we think and choose to be and in doing so we are powerful beyond all measure!
